As the demand for compact and efficient electronic components grows, PUI Audio continues to innovate with our latest lineup of surface mount audio and haptic devices. These new products, featuring enhanced durability and cutting-edge technology, are designed to meet the needs of modern electronics, whether in medical equipment, consumer devices, industrial applications, or specialized environments.

The Power of Surface Mount Technology

Surface Mount Technology (SMT) plays a critical role in the evolution of electronic manufacturing. By enabling components to be mounted directly onto the surface of PCBs, SMT allows for more compact and efficient assemblies, making it possible to integrate more functionality into smaller spaces. Our new offerings take full advantage of these benefits, ensuring reliable performance even in challenging environments.

Reflow Best practices

Reflow soldering involves carefully controlling the temperature profile to ensure proper melting and solidification of solder paste, forming reliable solder joints for surface-mount components. The reflow process typically includes several distinct phases, each with specific temperature ranges and timing requirements. A typical reflow soldering profile for lead-free solder paste can be adjusted based on specific paste and component requirements, please reference individual specification sheets of the product for reference.

Ramp – This phase should be gradual to allow for uniform heating across the PCB, reducing the risk of warping or thermal stress.
Soak-The soak phase helps to prepare the solder paste for reflow by heating it to a temperature where the flux activates and begins to degas, which helps in reducing solder defects.

Peak – The peak temperature should be sufficient to fully melt the solder paste without overheating the components. The solder should form a smooth, reliable joint as it cools.

Cool – The cooling phase should be controlled to prevent rapid temperature changes that can cause solder joint defects or component damage.
